As a General Assistant, you will support the operations by completing all assigned tasks in a timely manner while ensuring quality and meeting the required targets.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Pay Rate: £11.66 - Weekly Pay.
2. Shifts: 08:00 - 17:00.
3. Follow all operating procedures to the best of your abilities.
4. Ensure the work area is kept safe and as clean as possible.
5. Maintain high standards of quality, hygiene, health, and safety in line with customer/company specifications.
6. Ensure that the standards of cleanliness and housekeeping are within the guidelines laid down in the Company procedures.
7. Report all accidents and take the necessary preventative action.
8. Communicate effectively both verbally and non-verbally at all levels.
9. Ensure that relevant entries are made in the diary log and that the log is checked at the beginning of each shift.
10. Be totally flexible within the role and within the unit departments.
11. Carry out quality checks with improvement action when required.
12. Assist in follow-up of Quality Assurance/Health & Safety reports.
13. Take on any other duties as and when required.
SPECIFIC DUTIES BY DEPARTMENT
PRODUCTION
1. Pack food liners in accordance with written specification.
2. From specification, accurately make up sample and product for all classes.
3. Conduct temperature, quality, and product date checks.
4. Seal flight canisters, trolleys, and record numbers.
5. Ensure correct marshalling of flights to Dispatch bays in assigned stowing order.
BOND
1. The receipt, handling, and appropriate storage of all incoming goods and coordinating/managing stock.
2. Sort and assemble bars into flights, working as a team to achieve targets.
3. Check trolley seals and cross-check with customs paperwork.
DISHWASH
1. General washing, sorting, assembling, packing, and positioning of the aircraft equipment.
2. Process and strip trolleys and deliver to the relevant department.
3. Offload and sort equipment/food and ensure it is delivered to the correct processing area.
STORES
1. Load/off-load lorries, stack shelves, and replenish equipment/food items.
2. From specification, accurately palletize shipments.
3. Conduct quality and product date checks.
4. Daily stock count of the list.
5. Stock rotation.
6. Clean the area.
Qualifications:
Education
1. Educated to High School level.
Work Experience
1. Good standard of English both written and verbal.
2. Working knowledge of Basic Hygiene.
3. Ideally some experience in a production/manufacturing/stores environment.
4. Experience of working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Skills & Knowledge
1. Good understanding of English both reading and writing.
2. Good Customer Service skills.
3. Positive attitude to work.
4. Able to work to tight deadlines.
5. Team worker.
