Female Support Worker

* Hours: up to 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis

We are looking for Support Workers who are calm, patient, and resilient. You will need to have a consistent approach to assisting the people we support to engage in the interests they love.
As Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
* Daily activities such as personal care, laundry, meal preparation, medication and administration
* Getting to know the people you will support and helping them to live the life they want to live
* Taking personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the people you will support
* Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people you will support
* Helping the people you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims
* Planning and being in favour of activities, such as holidays, learning, and social engagements while always being creative and exploring new opportunities
* Assisting the people you will assist to manage their personal affairs and prepare for, and attend any appointments
* Ensuring the people you will assist and their families are treated with respect, dignity, and equality
* Working in accordance with SeeAbility’s values
Whilst on a bank basis, we are looking for someone who can devote up to 37.5 hours per week and is willing to work on a shift rota basis, covering mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Who will you be supporting?
At Exeter Support Service, we support 4 adults with a range of disabilities including learning and physical disabilities, sight loss, complex health conditions including epilepsy, brain injury, and autism. People at the Exeter location are a very active group who spend a lot of time getting out and about and engaging with the local community. We love going to the beach, picnics, pubs, gyms, and going out for coffee and cake. We also enjoy fun activities such as banner racing, boxing, photography, horse riding, drama, arts and crafts, cooking, and of course meeting friends.

Responsibilities
* Providing direct support when displaying behaviours to enable them to participate in a wide range of activities
* Ensuring good working practice including understanding and awareness of health and safety
* Promoting independence and developing skills while assisting with all tasks necessary to ensure positive life experiences
* Working positively with other agencies, parents, carers, and other services to ensure person-centred care for people we support
* Developing and contributing to the maintenance of records and support plans and functioning as a Key worker when required
* Supporting our people to maintain a clean living environment appropriate to meet their individual needs
* Participating in regular and ongoing training relevant to everyone's needs
