Wood is currently recruiting for a Training & Competence Advisor to join the Aberdeen team on a permanent basis. Flexible hybrid working can be offered for this role.
The Training & Competence Advisor will support the management and delivery of Training and Competence services across the business ensuring our workforce have the skills and competencies required to do their job safely.
People:
1. Interface internally with Contract Teams, functions, competence assurance team and client stakeholders within the business on training, competence, team activities/progress
2. Accountable in conjunction with the company’s training management service provider (TMS) in the delivery and monitoring of mandatory technical and safety training courses and certification
3. Responsible for the training of new starts as directed by the senior/lead
Process Ownership:
4. Drive the progress of training compliance, renewal of expiring certification and achievement of KPI in conjunction with the training management service provider (TMS)
5. Responsible for ensuring the workforce has the correct training and certification as mandated by statute, client, or internal standards to carry out their role safely.
6. Support team lead in change initiatives
7. Responsible for Matrix compliance management, monitoring and reporting (incl. client specific reports) and course deviations.
8. Responsible for onboarding and management of new starts training compliance in accordance with Wood standards and procedures
9. Accountable for Training Management Systems - training records data entry and matrix management
10. Focal point for commercial, payroll and account enquiries
11. Support the implementation of revised training and competence frameworks
12. Running weekly data checks on gaps, expiries and deviations ensuring the training management service provider (TMS) are adhering to Wood policy and procedures
13. Running weekly data checks on pre-employment gaps and expiries ensuring adherence to Wood policy and procedures
14. Management and administration of competence-related pay increments
Subject Matter Expertise:
15. Provide the business with support and advice on training and competence matters
16. Support in the development of training processes
17. Responsible for ensuring legislative compliance with awarding body standards
18. Provide information and support to the contract teams and the training management service provider (TMS)
19. Identify problems and come up with solutions
General:
20. Administration of Vocational Qualifications and In-House Logbooks including applications of accredited certification were applicable
21. Co-ordination of in-house training requirements as directed by the business
22. Provide administrative support to Competence Assurance Team including the electronic competence management system (CMS)
23. Participate in standalone projects as required
24. Support internal and external audits
25. Responsible for efficient response times to Skillspool and individual mailboxes, iCIMS and Everything People queries
26. Proactive ownership of data stored in various systems within business area
