Deputy Children’s Home Manager – Stoke-on-Trent
Location: Stoke-on-Trent (ST1)
Salary: £14.00 - £16.35 per hour (DOE) + £65 per sleep-in
Hours: 38 hours per week, including 7 sleep-ins per month

We are looking for a Deputy Manager to join a specialist team in a new four-bed EBD children’s home in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an opportunity to be part of something from the ground up with the Registered Manager, helping to build a safe, structured, and supportive space where young people can thrive.

Your Role as Deputy Manager
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to lead the team, ensuring the home runs smoothly and provides the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead & Develop the Team – Supervise, mentor, and support Residential Support Workers.
* Deliver High-Quality Care – Ensure all care meets Ofsted standards and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
* Safeguarding Leadership – Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead, prioritising the safety and well-being of all young people.
* Manage Individualised Care Plans – Oversee and updatepersonalised care plans, ensuring tailored support for each young person.
* Collaborate with External Professionals – Work closely with social workers, therapists, and education providers.
* Drive Best Practice – Implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards and consistency.
* Step into Leadership – Take full responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager’s absence.
What We’re Looking For
We need a passionate, proactive, and ambitious leader who is committed to making a difference in young people’s lives.
Essential Requirements:
* At least two years’ experience working in a residential children’s home, supporting young people with EBD needs.
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Strong knowledge of Ofsted standards, safeguarding principles, and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
* Leadership skills – Experience in supervising staff, leading shifts, and building a strong, motivated team.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills - The ability to engage effectively with young people, staff, and external professionals.
* A desire to progress to a Registered Manager role.
* Full UK manual driving licence
