About The Role
Service Charge Team LeaderAre you passionate about delivering exceptional service and leading a dynamic team? LiveWest is looking for a dedicated and experienced Service Charge Team Leader to join our Neighbourhoods Directorate. As a key player in our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our service charge accounts and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership and Development: Manage and support a team of Service Charge Officers and Coordinators, providing effective coaching, feedback, and performance management to ensure they are motivated and working cohesively to meet targets.
- Service Charge Management: Ensure the accurate setting and accounting of service charges for all new and existing properties, collaborating with various teams to meet required timescales for lettings and sales.
- Customer Engagement: Communicate with customers regarding service charge queries, providing supporting documents and responding to complaints within prescribed timeframes to ensure excellent customer service.
- Compliance and Consultation: Ensure correct consultation procedures are followed for raising and altering service charges, and assist in completing Section 20 consultations for long-term agreements and repairs.
This role is being offered on a full time, fixed term basis until January 2027. Hybrid working is available for this role, working 2 - 3 days per week in our Exeter or Weston-super-Mare office.

About The Candidate
To be successful in your application for the role of Team Leader – Service Charge, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level 2 role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:
- Previous accountable experience of line management and managing direct reports.
- Ability to motivate a team to perform and to ensure that workloads are challenging but achievable.
- To act as a referral-point for queries from both internal and external customers.
- Experience of improving customer satisfaction.
- Good level of knowledge of social housing policy. (D)
- Good level of knowledge of income and expenditure accounts and budgets. (D)
- Ability to manage, review and collect up to date information to assist in completing accurate accounts and budget setting.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities to deliver agreed outcomes for a range of internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel.
- Experience using purchase order and invoicing systems. (D)
- A full driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle to enable travel to our various schemes and offices when required. (D)
