Sales Ledger Assistant
Department: Student Accounts
Location: Oxford Head Office - Hybrid 3 days per week on-site
Hours per week: 37.5 Monday to Friday
Salary: £24,000
The role is to support Management Accountant and Team Leader in producing a set of monthly and/or quarterly set of management accounts per site. This role has responsibility for some of the key areas of European reporting- VAT reporting and timely invoicing.
Key Tasks
Ensure all banking entries are entered onto the TCAS and Dream system daily with the support of the QX processing team and site team
Managing client bank accounts and reconciliations (including credit card payment breakdown) on a daily basis and investigating where differences arise.
Update tax reporting and invoicing spreadsheets as required
Ensure timely invoicing per specific country requirements; weekly for Portuguese sites
Annual processing of Tenant Deposit refunds and where required for early leavers
Contribute to delivery of month end and management accounts
Contribute to Accrual and Prepayment Preparation if necessary
Reconciling Debtor and Creditor payments
Reconciling VAT/ IVA in dream
Assist in answering audit queries, site team queries and client requests including bank covenants in a timely manner
Assist in the completion and filing VAT/ IVA returns
To participate in process improvement
Assisting in the continuous improvement of management reporting
Assisting in the improvement and documentation of processes and procedures within Client Accounts.
To ensure all company policies are adhered to.

Knowledge and Skills
Academic Qualifications:
Studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA. QBE will be considered.
Experience (in years):
Minimum of 6 months in an accounting or finance role or relevant post of similar responsibility.
Skills:
Experience with bank reconciliations
Microsoft Excel to include V Lookups, If Statements and Pivot Tables
Microsoft Word and Outlook
Knowledge Dream and TCAS would be an asset
