Role Overview
As Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support for the Medical Secretaries’ department. You will interact with patients, consultants, staff, and visitors to facilitate a coordinated pathway of care for patients.
What you’ll do
* Provide admin support to the department, prioritising doctors’ workload accordingly to ensure each practitioner’s work is accurately completed on time.
* Maintain a polite and friendly manner and a high standard of confidentiality.
* Work as part of a team, showing flexibility of shared tasks to ensure that we provide the best quality service in a pleasant environment for both staff and patients.
* File all correspondence, test results, and referral letters into the patient’s notes before returning to medical records.
* Receive telephone messages and relevant queries. Send/receive faxed messages and relay promptly to the doctor concerned. Request patient information from outside organisations.
* Support in the coordination of our multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure consultant engagement and the smooth running of the meeting.
What you’ll bring
* Medical Secretary experience.
* MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) experience would be desirable.
* Good time management and prioritisation skills.
* Organisational skills.
* IT literate.
