The Percy Hedley Foundation is one of the largest regional charities supporting people with a range of learning and physical needs. The Role
Wansbeck House is a small residential service for young people with complex learning disabilities in Jesmond. The people we support are aged 17-30 and enjoy an active life including attending our specialist College and Day services during the week. As the Registered Manager, you’ll lead our team to create an environment where the people we support can develop their confidence and self-esteem focusing on independent living skills and social interaction. The role offers unrivalled variety, and Wansbeck House is a high energy and friendly service with an absolute focus on delivering the highest standard of person-centred care. As the Registered Manager of the service, you will have a proactive and flexible approach, and be an excellent communicator. It is important you have strong knowledge and experience of working within a similar service and setting, understanding the importance of routine and structure for the young people we support.
The successful candidate will be a highly experienced registered manager who will empower and promote dignity and independence, aiming for excellence through high standards of care. As the Registered Manager, you will be an ambitious and driven individual, capable of inspiring and motivating your team to deliver the very best care in line with CQC standards and fundamentals. You will be integral to the delivery of Percy Hedley’s residential care strategy for Wansbeck House, contributing to the wider successes of the charity.
You will be an inspirational leader ready to take on all aspects of the service’s operations including quality assurance, compliance, and people management, with a strong track record in supporting and inspiring team members to pursue opportunities for continuous professional development. You will be pivotal in fostering a person-centred culture with a focus on providing practical and emotional care which enables the people we support to have new experiences and live fulfilled lives.
You must have;
* Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification
* Strong experience of managing adult residential care services
* Strong experience and knowledge of working with people who require positive behavioural support.
* An understanding and ability to uphold high regulatory standards in line with CQC guidance and legislation
