Job Role: Process Manager - Payroll Mapping

Contract Length: Fixed-term contract (6 months), with potential for extension
Pay Rate: £500 per day via Umbrella
Role Overview: Our client, a leading retail organisation, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Manager to join their team. This role is focused on project work, specifically documenting and mapping the payroll budgeting process. The successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders to understand, document, and optimise the payroll budgeting process, ensuring it is well-documented and can be easily understood and utilised by others in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand the current payroll budgeting process.
Document and map the entire payroll budgeting process, ensuring clarity and comprehensiveness.
Identify areas for improvement and optimisation within the process.
Manage the project from inception to completion, ensuring all milestones are met.
Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and status reports.
Ensure the project stays on track and within scope.
Work closely with the Finance team, including the Head of Finance Payroll and Business Support, and other key stakeholders.
Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather information and validate process documentation.
Communicate project progress and findings to stakeholders regularly.
Evaluate current systems and tools used for payroll budgeting.
Identify opportunities for automation and system improvements.
Collaborate with the technology team to implement new solutions if necessary.
Develop training materials and documentation to support the knowledge transfer of the new process.
Provide training and support to team members on the new process and any new systems implemented.
Qualifications and Skills:
Process Documentation: Proven experience in documenting and mapping complex processes.
Project Management: Strong project management skills with experience in managing complex projects.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to identify areas for improvement and optimisation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: Essential for handling data and calculations involved in the payroll process.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and present findings.
Process Management: Experience in process management, particularly in documenting and mapping processes.
Payroll or Financial Knowledge: Basic understanding of payroll processes or financial knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
Technology Evaluation: Experience in evaluating and implementing new systems and tools.
Project Management Certification: PMP, PRINCE2, or similar certification is preferred.
Financial Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
