As part of our team, you will be involved in projects at all stages of the product lifecycle, from initial concept generation, new product introduction, and continuous improvement in manufacture. In your role as an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be expected to support the design, development, and maintenance of electrical drawings and PLC/HMI code. Working within the Electrical Engineering team, management of drawings, BoMs, PLC updates, revision control, and lifecycle management will be an important part of the role.
Responsibilities:
1. Interpret specifications and customer requirements from Sales, Project Managers, and Engineering Management.
2. Produce technical documentation to support designs.
3. Create electrical schematics and 3D panel layouts using Eplan P8 and Pro Panel.
4. Export BoM data for electrical hardware.
5. Create PLC code using Studio5000 & CoDeSys in line with the system architecture.
6. Design HMI screens to match the system's requirements.
7. Issue designs into the PLM system via the ECO process.
8. Provide technical support through production and commissioning.
9. Work within the company quality and safety procedures.
10. Provide service support and action ECRs allocated.
11. Visit sites as required.
Essential:
1. Strong knowledge of electrical control systems including PLC controllers.
2. Flexibility to respond to changing business needs.
3. Willingness to travel with good presentation skills.
4. Great time management skills.
5. Able to work as part of a team and individually.
6. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, Presentation, Teams & Word).
Desirable:
1. Experience in using CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, Eplan or Solidworks Electrical.
2. Experience in PLC Programming platforms such as Studio5000 or CoDeSys.
3. Experience programming VFD/Servo Drives within Rockwell environments.
4. Experience in a relevant field of work.
5. HNC in Electrical Engineering or other relevant field of study.
Desired:
1. BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering or other relevant field of study.
2. Experience in this field of work.
