* EXCITING NURSE ASSOCIATE OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN THE EATING DISORDERS TEAM *
Maternity Cover - Estimated 12 months
As a Registered Nursing Associate, you will collaborate closely with patients with a suspected or diagnosed eating disorder, their families, and carers. You will participate in therapeutic group work programmes working alongside members of the MDT to ensure patients’ needs are met. You will be required to monitor patients to develop, implement, and evaluate programmes of care under the direct supervision of the clinicians.
You will need to be NMC registered, and work within the NMC Code of Practice and Professional guidelines.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of the Eating Disorders Service to provide high quality, efficient assessment, care planning, treatment and monitoring of patients.
The role will require the post holder to work collaboratively with the patient, their family/carers/representatives, and other professionals/agencies to facilitate the best possible outcomes for patients.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will work under the supervision from a registered nurse or other registered professional to provide high quality care and treatment.
• You will participate in the assessment, planning and providing of clinical interventions relevant to the patient group.
• Assist with the processing of new referrals to the service.
• Perform ECG’s, forwarding results to the team doctors for review.
• Facilitate physical health clinics, monitoring weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, venepuncture, and physical symptoms related to eating disorders.
• Supporting key work and attending MDT meetings. Be accountable for own actions or omissions ensuring mindfulness of the NMC Code of Conduct for Nurses, Midwives and Nursing Associates.
• Demonstrate good understanding of the Mental Capacity Act.
• Demonstrate skills to maintain professional standards of record keeping.
• Share ideas with colleagues to improve care and suggest areas for innovation.
• Participate in audit activities being undertaken in area of practice or across the service.
• Providing skilled, evidence-based care which adheres to agreed policies and procedures.
• Report back and share information with the registered nurses on the condition, behaviour, activity, and responses of patients.
• Recognise deterioration in patients and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Act as patient advocates in the multi-disciplinary team.
• Referring to other teams or services as appropriate.

Qualifications and Training
* Foundation Degree – (Science) in Nursing Associate.
Experience
* Ongoing evidence of continuing professional development.
* Post registration experience relevant to the role.
* Venepuncture.
* Experience in the delivery of healthcare.
* Experience of working with patients with an Eating Disorder.
Employer certification / accreditation badges
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
