The Data and Analytics Office (DAO) was established to transform HSBC into a truly data-driven organisation by ensuring that every design decision has a built-in data consideration. We provide leadership that enables data and analytics to be a key driver of our business strategy. We work closely in partnership with senior stakeholders and delivery teams all over the world to connect the business processes, data, products, services, and technology that underpin customer value and financial success.
In this fantastic new role, you will take control of:
1. Maintaining and reporting an accurate view of data control design and operating effectiveness for Data Usage, Data Movement, Data Storage, and Data Privacy controls, including impact on HSBC UK’s data risk profile
2. Ensuring control gaps are identified, recorded, and remediated in a timely manner
3. Ensuring data management activities are operated in compliance with procedure, policy, and regulatory requirements
4. Managing and supporting the data risk controls environment to ensure the appropriate configuration and management
5. Managing and supporting the provision and guidance to the data risk and controls community to ensure that risks are being accurately reflected and managed with appropriate Issues and Action plans raised
6. Managing and supporting the progress reporting to governance forums including RCMMs and RMMs on data risk and controls status highlighting areas of progress or particular concern
7. Partnering and collaborating with 2LOD and the DAO capability leads to review and revise the RTCL, Mandatory Procedures and Operating Instructions to ensure that they remain relevant, complete and provide appropriate data risk management
8. Managing and supporting highly aggregated, timely views of reporting of data controls for management review and decision making

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
1. Governance experience and understanding with the ability to turn data into presentable stories
2. Experience in preparing for, facilitating and recording formal governance meetings
3. Experience writing papers and submission documents into formal governance
4. Experience identifying control gaps, collaborating on solution design and driving changes through governance
5. Data analysis experience
This role can be based in Sheffield or Birmingham.
