We are seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer or Electrical Project Manager to join the team working on a prestigious project in Oxford. This is a high-profile, £1 billion development that will feature a world-class cancer research campus, including laboratories, clinics, and wellness centres. The project spans over 30,000sqm, with a MEP value of £117 million, and is located on the south side of Oxford. The project consists of multiple buildings renovation and new construction, research labs and collaboration spaces, and a high-level Woodland Walkway. Construction is underway, with project completion expected in June 2026. As the Senior Electrical Project Engineer/PM, you will play a key role in managing electrical engineering systems and contributing to the overall success of this cutting-edge facility Job Details Key Responsibilities: Oversee the electrical engineering aspects of the project, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. Lead the electrical project team and collaborate closely with senior management, designers, architects, consultants, and contractors. Manage the coordination and implementation of electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarms, and other critical systems. Apply innovative methods and technologies to ensure the effective execution of the project. Establish and maintain engineering documentation, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company standards. Resolve technical issues as they arise and provide practical solutions. Monitor and control project schedules and budgets, ensuring that electrical components are delivered on time and within the allocated budget. Ensure effective communication with all project stakeholders, including clients and senior management. Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team members and contractors on site. Skills & Experience: Previous experience in delivering fast-track projects in sectors such as data centres, hospitals, science facilities, stadia, high-rise commercial, and residential buildings. Proven ability to manage projects with MEP values between £15 million and £100 million. Strong technical knowledge of electrical engineering systems, including power distribution, lighting, and safety systems. Ability to apply engineering principles and calculations to resolve complex technical challenges. Experience in the selection and management of innovative materials and safe work methods. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders, including senior management, designers, and clients.
