Position Summary
We are on the hunt for a highly motivated and seasoned Key Account Manager to join our dynamic team and spearhead the growth of our solar photovoltaic (PV) business in the UK market. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in formulating and implementing strategies to expand our market reach, nurture and strengthen relationships with key channel partners and large clients, and identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in channel management, with a preference for experience in the renewable energy or solar PV sector. A deep understanding of the UK solar PV market, a robust network of UK-based channel partners and clients, and exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Sales Leadership: Devise and execute comprehensive sales strategies aimed at significantly expanding our solar PV business footprint in the UK market. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and develop targeted plans to capitalize on them.
2. Partner Relationship Management: Manage and cultivate strong, long-lasting relationships with key channel partners, distributors, and large clients in the UK solar PV sector. Understand their business objectives, challenges, and requirements, and collaborate closely to provide tailored solutions that drive mutual growth and success.
3. New Partner Acquisition: Proactively identify and onboard new channel partners to enhance our market presence and expand our distribution network. Conduct thorough due diligence to evaluate potential partners, negotiate favorable terms and agreements, and ensure a seamless integration into our existing business ecosystem.
4. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including sales, marketing, technical, and customer service, to ensure the seamless delivery of products and services to clients. Coordinate efforts to address customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and provide exceptional customer support throughout the sales cycle.
5. Market Intelligence and Analysis: Stay abreast of the latest market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities in the UK solar PV industry. Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify emerging opportunities, threats, and customer preferences, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.
6. Sales Performance Management: Set clear sales targets and performance metrics, and develop and implement strategies to achieve and exceed these targets. Monitor and analyze sales performance on a regular basis, identify areas for improvement, and take proactive measures to address any issues or challenges that arise.
7. Reporting and Forecasting: Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and market insights to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and opportunities. Use data-driven analysis and market intelligence to support strategic decision-making and drive business growth.
Essential Requirements
1. Channel Management Experience: Proven track record in channel management, preferably within the renewable energy or solar PV industry. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective channel strategies, manage partner relationships, and drive sales growth through channel partners.
2. Key Account Management Skills: Demonstrated success in managing large key accounts in the UK solar PV market. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, understand their business needs, and provide tailored solutions that meet or exceed their expectations.
3. UK Market Network: Established network of UK-based channel partners and clients in the solar PV sector. Strong understanding of the UK solar PV market landscape, including key players, market trends, and regulatory environment.
4. Communication and Negotiation Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally, and to build and maintain strong relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
5. Self-motivation and Results Orientation: Self-driven, results-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to set clear goals, prioritize tasks effectively, and take proactive measures to achieve them.
6. Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel within the UK as required to meet with clients, partners, and attend industry events.
Desirable Qualifications
1. Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant professional certifications in sales, marketing, or business management are highly desirable.
2. Market Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the UK solar PV market, including regulations, incentives, and industry trends. Understanding of the technical aspects of solar PV systems and their applications is a plus.
3. CRM and Analytics Skills: Experience with CRM tools and sales analytics platforms. Ability to use data-driven insights to inform sales strategies, track sales performance, and identify opportunities for growth.
