About the Reward Consultant opportunity:
Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting for an experienced Reward Consultant to join our client based in Exeter on an interim basis for approximately 6 months, with the possibility of being extended.
The ideal Reward Consultant will support the Head of Reward, Relations, and Policy, to deliver the organisation's reward strategy, providing a high quality, best value, commercially aware HR Service to m anagers and employees of the organisation. The Reward Consultant will be responsible for demonstrating and developing professional practice excellence to a team of Reward Specialists.
The duties of the Reward Consultant will include:
* Supporting, developing, and directing a team of reward specialists to effectively deliver the Organisation's Reward function/activity
* Lead on the review, development, and update of the organisation's reward related policies, including the Pay Policy Statement and their subsequent monitoring, evaluation and updating as required. Including identifying areas for development as well as the interpretation of legislation
* Manging the Organisation's Job Evaluation process, including responsibility for the new and changed job process
* Managing projects across pay and reward which are driven by organisational priorities or legislative changes
* Working with the wider People and Culture team and Trade Unions to deliver pay and reward solutions. Seeking out pragmatic solutions and making recommendations to solve difficult and/or complex issues
* Participating in consultative and communication process within the Organisation, both formally through Joint Consultative Committees etc. and informally
* Staying informed about developments, trends, and legislative changes to ensure our offer remains attractive and compliant
* Ensuring legal and legislative requirements are met across the pay and reward remit
* Overseeing and directing the benchmarking activity to inform reward activity
* Collating and analysing relevant data to provide insights for decision-making and strategy development and support monitoring of the service through key performance data
* Reviewing implications and advise on implementation of national pay awards
* Day to Day oversight of team activity and advice to ensure a customer focussed approach, with direction and focus
* Drafting and presenting of reports for corporate leadership, service leadership teams, organisational forums and groups, and elected members on the range of work undertaken by strategic HR
* Responsibility for allocated budgets, to be kept within agreed targets, including monitoring, management, and forecasting
* Supporting the strategic development of the HR Service, where appropriate identifying opportunities for continuing improvement
The Reward Consultant will ideally have:
* Experience within a public sector organisation is desirable
* Experience in GLPC and Hay job evaluation is essential
* Previous line Management experience
* Experience of co-ordinating and leading project teams
* Experience of leading on job evaluation processes
* Membership of CIPD or equivalent
The Reward Consultant will need to have excellent communication skills and effectively be able to communicate to stakeholders of all levels. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have an impeccable eye for detail and accuracy to ensure all workload is carried out effectively and efficiently. They will also need to able to prioritise their workload and be efficient and effective to meet unpredictable deadlines and deal with conflicting demands, whilst working in a high-pressured environment.
