Why do we want you?
AXCO, part of Wilmington plc, are now recruiting for a Research Analyst to join our team!
If you are an experienced Research professional hoping to apply your skills in the world-leading insurance sector, this could be the role for you.
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience working with numerical data research.
You will need to seek data sources independently, analyse and process the data using Excel, and support the development of our global insurance data offerings.
This role is about high-level research, where you will find credible global data sources and manipulate numerical data to fit the Axco platform.
Job Purpose, Tasks, and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
* Maintaining and updating Axco’s market data offerings.
* Finding the best global data sources for the team.
* Using analytical skills to categorise, harmonise, and maintain growing datasets.
* Processing and manipulating numerical data (e.g., insurance types sold by region) to fit the Axco platform.
* Producing and maintaining global insurance data for products like Insurance Market Reports, Axco Navigator, and bespoke client deliverables.
* Assisting with client queries and collaborating with consultant writers.
* Curating data to support teams across the business.
* Conducting independent research to discover new data sources.
* Contributing to the optimization of team processes.
* Working with third-party vendors to ensure quality deliverables.
* Assisting with quality control to ensure data meets high standards.
* Maintaining attention to detail to ensure data quality.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* At least an undergraduate degree, with a postgrad preferred but not essential. You should demonstrate some quantitative skills, but the subject doesn’t matter. More than anything, it’s important that you can conduct high-quality research and analysis.
* Previous experience conducting market data research and analysis is a plus, especially in the insurance or banking industry, though we understand this role may appeal to people with a broader background.
* Excellent reading comprehension and first-class web research skills to identify the best sources of data.
* Experience working with datasets in Excel, including basic formulas, filtering, and pivot tables.
* Experience with more advanced data tools like Power BI or SQL is a plus.
* Strong attention to detail is a must. Our reports are lengthy and contain specialized data, and you’ll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of this data.
We know it’s not a skill, but the successful candidate must have permission to work in the role’s location by the start of their employment.
