This position requires skills specific to traditional Photography and Printmaking; knowledge of camera settings; setting up and running a traditional dark room practice for development of film and prints; setting up the white studio, lights, camera settings and peripherals. Salary Details: BS14-18 (currently £23,088 – £24,109 pro-rata) ( Equivalent to £12.00 - £12.53 per hour) This is a 3-point incremental scale with progression to each point on an annual basis. Commencing salaries will be assessed in accordance with the College’s starting salaries matrix. Hours of Work: 22.5 hours (3 days per week) worked over 38 term weeks (Fractionalised posts are paid in equal amounts over 12 months and the pro rata holiday pay will be incorporated into the calculation) Contract Type: Salaried - Permanent Qualifications: You will hold a minimum Level 2 relevant qualification. It is however highly desirable to hold a relevant Level 3 qualification. If you do not currently hold a Level 3 qualification, you will be supported to undertake and achieve this within a specified timescale. It is essential to hold a current First Aid Certificate. If not currently held, you will be supported to undertake and achieve this within a specified timescale. You will have an approachable manner and a can-do attitude, with the ability to work to a busy schedule and manage multiple projects. You will have excellent organisation and communication skills and maintain high standards of work and comply with HSE requirements. You will be responsible for preparing and managing the use of performing arts areas, workshops, equipment and materials required for practical sessions. As a Technician supporting Art & Design, you should have knowledge of a wide range of art & design areas and processes including photography and printmaking and be competent with handling 3D materials and tools. You will maintain and manage health and safety materials and comply and advocate best practice HSE arrangements for all spaces provide support within studios, workshops and specialist learning activities.
