Deputy Head of Programme Controls
Description & Background:
As part of Sizewell C's Project Management Office, the Deputy Head of Programme Controls will share functional ownership for all Programme Controls across this major nuclear construction project. Working alongside the Head of Programme Controls, you'll be responsible for the ownership, deployment, and continuous improvement of all Project Controls elements, ensuring they operate within the project's governance structure and delivery model. This role offers the opportunity to help establish Sizewell C as an exemplar in Project Controls within the construction industry.
Principal Responsibilities:
Support functional Project Controls leads in developing integrated Project Controls processes
Deputize for the Head of Programme Controls at key meetings including Change Committee and Project Performance Reviews
Assist with establishing Project Controls arrangements, systems, tools, and work instructions
Coordinate PMO-led activities including annual budget planning and schedule deep-dives
Support reporting processes including schedule updates and variance identification
Ensure timely production of high-quality functional month-end Performance Reports
Implement effective lines of defense assurance process for Project Controls functions
Lead, coach, and support senior Project Controls resources
Drive innovation to make Project Controls activities "Digital by Default"
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Degree or equivalent in business analysis, accounting, finance, construction, engineering, or project management
Track record as Project Controls Director on large infrastructure projects
Experience across multiple Project Controls functions: cost control, estimating, scheduling, change management, and risk management
Strong understanding of earned value analysis
Experience managing teams in matrix structures
Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholders

Salary, Location & Details:
Hybrid: Suffolk or London office-based with hybrid working (2-3 days in office)
Travel to site approximately once/twice per quarter
