Our procurement team is fully prepared to meet the requirements of the 2025 Procurement Act, and as one of our Procurement Officers for our Place and Resources directorates you will support the development of high performing procurement practice across their teams, ensuring compliance with the latest legislation and adopting best practices in procurement to achieve excellence in every project we undertake. You will also support the training and development of procurement skills across the council.
About You…
As one of our Procurement Officers you will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, with an advanced knowledge and experience of e-tendering and procurement systems, excellent computer skills and evidence of your continuing professional development.
About the team...
You will work as part of our Corporate Procurement team, which has recently received significant investment from Bracknell Forest Council to enhance our processes and support the delivery of best practice procurement strategies.
Our team is dynamic and collaborative, working closely with commissioners from various Directorates to deliver strategic and above threshold procurements. We pride ourselves on conducting procurements compliantly with legislation and the Council's Contract Standing Orders. Additionally, you will support the Business Partners of the team in managing core council systems.
Key responsibilities...
As one of our Procurement Officers you will support cross-functional teams to develop new contracts, delivering clear service improvements and real cash savings.
You will advise commissioners on procurement and contract management issues and deliver above threshold and strategic procurements, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and contract standing orders.
You will have an advanced understanding and experience in utilising e-tendering systems to maximise functionality and promote self-service procurement through training and coaching.
