Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Yard Assistant to join the team in our Rutherglen branch who is as passionate about great service as we are!

Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-5pm, every 2nd Saturday 8am-12pm
Location: Jewson, 257 Glasgow Rd, Rutherglen, Glasgow G73 1SG
Key Responsibilities:
1. Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
2. Get to know our product lines so you can offer advice and help to customers, making the most of all customer interactions
3. Help to pick and prepare customer orders, load and unload customer and supplier vehicles (in-house forklift training provided)
4. Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
5. Maintain stock levels in all yard/warehouse areas, carrying out regular stock counts
6. Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, to make a great first impression on our customers
7. Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work

Required Skills and Experience
1. Experience in a customer-facing role
2. Previous industry experience preferred but not essential
3. Confident working both indoors and outdoors
4. A positive and proactive attitude to work
5. Comfortable in a role involving extensive manual handling of bulky items
