About the role We're currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Head of Finance to lead our UK & Ireland Finance team, based in Sheffield UK. Reporting to the UK&I MD, the role is part of the senior leadership team and has a dotted line to the Leviat CFO and is part of the wider finance leadership team. It has the oversight responsibility of the financial performance of the business. You will own, build strategy and implement improvements to increase the effectiveness and/or efficiency of the financial reporting and control systems. In addition, you'll review, identify and evaluate emerging areas of operational and organizational risk, as well as oversee and monitor all interactions with Finance and lead and support the securing and delivery of major contracts from a financial perspective. Main responsibilities In this role you'll: Be the Financial Leader for UK&I and support the UK&I Managing Director in driving the Commercial & Operational Excellence throughout the business using performance data as appropriate to ensure expected results are delivered and margins maximised. Support in all major Capital Expenditure and M&A. Create and use financial reports, production and cost data, commercial and other information to influence decision making and cost control of our plants. Work with the senior management team across the organisation to ensure strategies are supported and embedded in the business with particular focus on Change management projects. Coach, mentor and develop all direct reports and the wider Finance function. Support in further ERP rollouts, review policy, procedures, controls, and associated test plans for adequacy of design, ensuring that systems are appropriate and mitigate identified risks within the process. Be a key leader of UK&I senior leadership team, being both the conscience and ethical champion in the business and the key business partner to the HR Lead, RMD and Operations Director. Make improvements to accounting & reporting processes while ensuring that practices comply with organization accounting policies, applicable laws and regulations, Identify control and operating weaknesses and develop recommendations to address for operations of the company focusing on financial, operational or IT areas. Track audit findings (CRH internal auditors & external auditors), drive development of action plans, and follow up on remediation actions and issue closure. Experience & qualifications To be successful in this role you'll need: A demonstrable track record leading a Finance function. An understanding of the manufacture and supply of highly engineered products for construction. To be growth-oriented, with an ability to partner the business to deliver both organic growth and growth through acquisition. To work effectively within a matrix structure and benefit from its scale & breadth. A proven ability to manage workflows with multiple stakeholders. To place a high priority on building effective management teams by attracting, developing, coaching/mentoring and retaining talent. A degree in Business/Finance and membership of a professional accounting body. Excellent communication skills, across all levels. To be fluent in English.
