Job Summary
The Facilities Management (FM) department is seeking a dedicated and experienced FM Officer to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe, smooth, and efficient running of various sites across the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust. The successful candidate will provide an effective, comprehensive, and confidential range of FM services, supporting both corporate sites and remotely managed ambulance stations.
This role can be based at Broughton, Ladybridge Hall, or Estuary Point, offering flexibility while ensuring effective FM service delivery across the Trust's sites.
Main Duties of the Job
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Management: Oversee FM operations across multiple sites, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment.
2. Collaborative Working: Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver high-quality facilities and services.
3. Standards & Monitoring: Maintain and uphold service standards through proactive coordination, monitoring, and reporting.
4. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve operational challenges efficiently to support the smooth running of our sites.

About Us
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed. We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential:
* BTEC or equivalent qualification in Facilities Management and/or experience (minimum two years in similar role)
* Minimum of English & Mathematics GCSE at grade C or above
Desirable:
* Be able to provide evidence of previous experience in maintenance, repair work or similar environment
Skills Essential:
* Good working knowledge of fire safety regulations
* Ability to encourage & support a team working environment
* Ability to work under pressure responding to tight deadlines and short notice periods
* Able to organise and plan activities for self to effectively prioritise tasks and to manage conflicting demands on time and resources to deliver objectives
* Ability to communicate effectively across wide demographic boundaries, in an appropriate manner, verbally, in writing and face to face, displaying tact when dealing with sensitive or contentious issues
* To be able to use and maintain precision relevant tools and equipment
* Ability to command confidence and respect from internal colleagues and external stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong problem solving, reasoning and analytical skills to collate and identify trends
* Physically fit and well and able to move and handle furniture, equipment and boxes between buildings and across various floors, using narrow stairs
* Ability to design and implement changes to improve systems and processes for effective collection, interpretation and presentation of data as well as accurate/appropriate reports
* Appraise MTC contractors with faults, liaise as required, monitor completion and sign off

* Must hold a current clean driving licence and be willing to travel for role

Knowledge Essential:

* Computer literate with an excellent understanding of Microsoft office suite and ability to convert software programmes and applications relevant to the role
* Understanding of facilities management terminology/ procedures and standard legislation
* Maintain commercial confidentiality
* Experience and background knowledge of procurement procedures
* Understanding of H & S and its application to the working environment
Desirable:
* Knowledge of security and maintenance systems and procedures, cleaning and CoSHH (provided through induction and job training).
