Role of Commercial:
Commercial owns the contractual relationship with our customers and helps develop customer engagement strategies. They lead negotiations and influence innovative solutions. Daily activities vary, including dealing with internal governance, financial performance, customer queries, bids, and demands worldwide. Commercial acts as the interface between the business and the customer; without this arrangement, no contractual commitments or changes could be implemented.
Summary of Role:
Working under the direction of the Commercial Manager, this role offers an opportunity to join Raytheon’s Mission Critical Solutions business during a period of technological development and rapid sales of key products.
The position is within a complex commercial environment with multiple contracting methodologies across various programme types and an international customer base. The work is engaging and challenging, providing exposure to customer and supplier interactions as well as internal stakeholder management.
Main Duties:
1. Respond to simple RFQs for standard equipment and services.
2. Support the Commercial team in preparing responses to complex Requests for Proposal/ ITT/ PQQs.
3. Implement and manage standard agreements such as NDAs and template contracts.
4. Assist Programme and Business Development teams during prospecting and bidding, under supervision.
5. Support the finance team in invoicing and cash collection processes.
6. Participate in cross-functional improvement activities.
7. Manage all commercial functional requirements from cradle to grave on supply contracts.
8. Ensure compliance with export controls, GDPR, government classifications, and other regulations.
9. Collaborate with business teams to meet central targets and address local challenges.
10. Contribute to gate process policies and provide input for gate packs.
Candidate Requirements:
* A business degree or equivalent experience.
* Ability to respond to tasks with tenacity and flexibility, working cross-functionally in a multidisciplinary team.
* Calm under pressure and collaborative skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Understanding of Contract Management and Procurement principles.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently.
* Willingness and ability to travel occasionally within the UK.
* Knowledge of Data Protection and relevant commercial and contract legislation.
* Experience in attending customer and supplier meetings to support supervisors.
* Familiarity with business process management tools (e.g., IPDS, SAP) and the bidding process.
