Job summary Interview is to be scheduled 28th April 2025 This post is intended to give experience to an orthopaedic surgeon looking to gain experience in the management of complex trauma. The candidate will need to be experienced in the management of upper and lower limb trauma with the ability to manage patients independently. The principle consultant clinical supervisor is Mr John McArthur The post will involve working with all of the trauma surgeons within the department. The post is intended for a surgeon who has a specialist interest in trauma surgery either of the upper or lower limb and is mostly clinically based. There will also be opportunities for research in conjunction with the Academic Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Warwick which is internationally recognised. The fellowship is offered for 6 months starting February 2026. Main duties of the job Regular trauma operating sessions. Attend appropriate specialist and general fracture clinics. Supervising the treatment of patients in UHCW Hospital Carrying our regular ward rounds as appropriate. Participation in clinical audit and research activities within the unit. Active involvement in the training and supervision of Junior Medical Staff on ward rounds, in theatre and in clinics, including the teaching of medical and nursing students. Participation in the registrar on call rota: midweek and weekend day on-calls.
