WHAT WILL YOU DO?
You will integrate into a dynamic team of professionals and provide field and report writing support for our clients.
NOTE: This job requires travel using your own vehicle and a valid driver’s license. The work is often outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions. This position regularly requires long days and overtime beyond the standard 35-hour work week and performing physically demanding tasks, including the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs of equipment while traversing difficult terrain.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
• Support projects of varying complexity involving waste resources management including monitoring and collection of groundwater and surface water samples utilizing a wide variety of equipment.
• Complete site visits and inspections.
• Support waste reduction and diversion projects involving waste audits.
• Completion of field documentation such as project field reports, field notes, and laboratory chain-of-custody forms.
• Management of maintenance and tracking of essential equipment, materials and supplies.
• Provides regular project updates and refers any complex or unusual matters to the field coordinator or project manager.
• Assist with draft report writing and ensure work is completed with accuracy and precision.
• Commit to implementing health and safety procedures and practices.
Job Requirements
• Current enrolment in a Bachelor of Science degree or College diploma in a related field.
• Experience working outdoors and willing to perform field work in all seasons and weather conditions.
• Ability to work physically demanding and longer days in the field and often work weeks that exceed the standard 35-hour work week.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs of equipment while traversing difficult terrain.
• Position requires repetitive motion for extensive periods of time.
• Outstanding organizational, communication, research, technical skills, and attention to detail.
• Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Understanding and/or proficiency with sector related computer software and all Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency (reading, writing and oral) in English.
• Valid Driver’s License and continuous access to a reliable vehicle.
