We are Beyond TV, a department at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies, driving innovation in Generative AI for Sports Experiences and Casual Gaming. We also manage Sky Live, the smart camera experience that enables users to watch TV with friends remotely, play games using body-tracking capabilities, and much more.
Our work contributes to Entertainment OS (EntOS), a comprehensive TV platform that powers media experiences globally, from Sky in Europe to Comcast Xumo in the US. EntOS powers TVs, streaming devices, and apps on mobiles and tablets, delivering content discovery and interactive experiences to millions.
What you'll do
As a Senior Engineering Manager in Beyond TV, you’ll focus on building and improving developer experiences, delivering cutting-edge, fast, and reliable features for our products. This includes developing immersive sports, gaming, and social TV experiences. Specifically, you’ll:
1. Define and lead team vision: Guide multiple high-performing teams towards a shared goal, continuously improving their capabilities through targeted initiatives.
2. Hire and develop talent: Recruit engineers and engineering managers, nurturing their growth and driving team excellence.
3. Represent your teams: Be the technical voice of your teams in cross-departmental forums, support engineers in proposing innovations, and actively engage in architectural discussions.
4. Champion engineering excellence: Advocate for best practices, developer experience, and process improvements to ensure high-quality outcomes.
5. Leverage metrics for improvement: Manage team performance through metrics and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making.
6. Manage technical ownership: Oversee technical service ownership, change management, incident handling, and optimising on-call processes.
7. Plan and oversee technology choices: Guide technology decisions, help teams manage technical debt, and shape system architecture to support innovation and scalability.
8. Optimise resources and budgets: Ensure teams have access to the right tools and services for a seamless development process.
What you’ll bring
1. Technical foundation: Proven hands-on software engineering experience, ideally in a professional setting, with strong technical expertise.
2. Leadership experience: Experience recruiting, developing, and managing multiple teams (15+ engineers), including effective performance management.
3. Empowerment and mentoring: A track record of mentoring engineers and engineering managers, supporting their career development, and empowering them to excel.
4. Strategic and technical influence: Ability to proactively drive technical direction, evaluate technology choices, and make informed architectural decisions.
5. Proven impact: A history of leading high-impact improvement initiatives across multiple teams in an organisation.
6. Commitment to best practices: Dedication to staying current with industry trends and evolving technical processes.

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
