A Vacancy at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Applications are invited from HCPC Registered Scientists with a knowledge of haemostasis and strong project management experience. Applicants must have completed the specialist portfolio in haematology and have a relevant postgraduate qualification such as masters level degree or equivalent. You will be welcomed into the leadership team of the Specialist Haemostasis Laboratory based in the Cambridge Haemophilia and Thrombophilia Centre Specialist Haemostasis Unit.
The unit provides a comprehensive repertoire of tests to the Cambridge University Hospitals and Royal Papworth Trusts, the Cambridge Comprehensive Care Haemophilia Centre and acts as a referral centre for specialist haemostasis testing the eastern region.
The laboratory works closely with the medical and nursing staff within the centre.You will be a strong team player with demonstrable project and quality management experience, they will also possess excellent communication skills and must be able to take responsibility for leading the team and directing day-to-day planning and prioritising of workload.

To plan and coordinate the day to day activities of the Specialist Haemostasis Laboratory.
To be responsible for the standard and quality of results released.
To manage departmental projects and ensure delivery to agreed timescales
To coordinate delivery of the specialist haemostasis contribution to clinical trial activity for CUH and external teams
To organise and participate in the training, supervision and development of Haemostasis laboratory and clinical staff.
To work flexibly in reflection of service needs which will include participation in delivery of an out of hours on call service.
To deputise in the absence of the Principal Clinical Scientist as required.
To maintain and promote a professional image of Pathology.
