Responsibilities:
Work on Mechanical Engineering design projects with the close support of senior engineers and the surrounding engineering function, ensuring compliance with the highest industry standards and project requirements, and adhering to engineering best practices.
Oversee technical activities across the product lifecycle, from project kick-off, through prototyping, and, if applicable, into production.
Act as a secondary technical point of contact for our clients, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain, to optimise product design for manufacturability, assembly, and cost.
Participate and contribute to design reviews and critical project milestones, and prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports.
Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting on existing and new designs, proposing modifications to improve performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Stay abreast of the latest technology trends and engineering best practices, integrating innovative solutions into designs where applicable.

Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Postgraduate degrees are advantageous.
2-4 years of relevant industry experience (following graduation).
Working experience of CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, CREO) and PLM software.
Confident with basic hand calculations, component sizing, and a basic understanding of FEA.
A fundamental understanding of engineering materials (metallic/composite/plastic), fabrication processes and their application, as well as a variety of manufacturing techniques and when to employ them.
Strong familiarity with fundamental mechanical systems (e.g. bearings, shafts, casings, hydraulics, pneumatics).
Hands-on engineering experience is desirable, be it having made, built, or restored a mechanical system.
Ability to understand project plans quickly and work efficiently to deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both in a team and independently, and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
