The Position
The Executive Officer (EO) is the operational leader of West Midlands Group, responsible for delivering the Board’s strategic vision through effective planning, people management, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery.
The key responsibilities will include:
* Strategic and organisational leadership
* Member engagement and communication
* Research and project management
* Financial and operational oversite
* Governance and Board support
This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on management and is ideal for someone who is passionate about agriculture, rural communities, and making a meaningful impact.
Requirements
To be successful in this exciting industry leadership position, candidates will need to demonstrate the following:
* Demonstrated leadership experience in a relevant sector (agriculture, not-for-profit, R&D, rural development)
* Strong understanding of regional agricultural systems and grower needs
* Proven ability to engage and communicate with diverse stakeholders, including growers, funders, researchers, and government
* Experience managing projects, sourcing funding, and delivering impactful outcomes
* Sound financial literacy, including budgeting, funding acquittals, and reporting
* Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
* Self-motivated with strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
