We are looking for a highly enthusiastic individual to complement the management team in leading our existing team Medically Optimized for Discharge ward. The Ward is a 28 bedded mixed sex ward, accommodating patients who are medically optomized for discharge awaiting complex discharge planning. This is a key post in the provision of supporting nursing leadership and management for the ward & departmental teams. Communicating with the consultants, nursing staff, junior medical staff, patients and relatives is an essential aspect of the role. This role is key to ensuring that excellent standards of care are consistently maintained, and the post holder will be expected to be a positive role model for the team. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will require a minimum 3 years post registration experience and recent experience at band 6 or above is required. Good leadership and communication skills are essential. Individuals should be flexible and be able to demonstrate they are an excellent role model with the ability to develop excellent interpersonal relationships. The successful candidate should have a proactive approach to complex discharge planning and be able to work effectively as part of the MDT. The post holder is responsible for the teaching, mentoring and assessment of students, trainees and professional staff, promoting a learning culture.
