A number of outstanding opportunities have arisen for contract positions at our Bristol Turbine Components Facility. We are looking for Inspectors responsible for the inspection of aerospace components to join on a 12-month contract. Please note this role is going to be on a rotating shift pattern (mornings, afternoons and nights).
In this role, you will be using visual, dimensional inspection techniques and CMM machines to find any non-conformance on aerospace turbine components. This could be intermediate inspection, receipt and dispatch of components or final clear inspection. As an Inspector, you will work with manufacturing engineers to determine the right course of action to address any non-conformance, and you will be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements.
As an Inspector you will be able to:
* Work to technical instructions to deliver consistent, high-quality machining and inspection across a variety of different components and product families.
* Operate CNC machines including grinding and laser machines.
* Operate measuring equipment, including micrometers, plug gauges, and surface finish equipment.
* Interpret manufacturing drawings, customer drawings, written specifications.
* Analyse and understand the output of CMM programmes.
* Work in a team to ensure Rolls-Royce delivers against their customer commitments.
Who we are looking for:
* A recognised time-served apprenticeship/modern apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, along with either NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
* Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, technical instruction and asset care.
* A strong awareness of H&S and inspection visual techniques.
*Please attach a copy of your certificate as proof of completing a recognised apprenticeship together with your CV.
