About The Role
Team – Actuarial - Health
Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality Bournemouth Office. Full time, 35 hours per week.
What this role is all about:
As a Senior Actuarial Analyst, you will be supporting various actuarial reporting requirements such as capital, valuation, reserving, and profitability. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in key actuarial areas, develop technical skills, and contribute to the financial stability and strategic decision-making of Vitality. You would be supporting Actuarial Analysts in their development.
Key Actions
1. Implement the Actuarial Control Cycle:
2. Data Management:
Identify and define data.
Manipulate, adjust, and analyse data.
Create or define processes.
3. Modelling:
Build appropriate models or develop pre-existing ones.
Identify, document, and understand the implications of key assumptions used in models.
Identify and quantify risks and opportunities.
Define solutions, recommending the most appropriate.
4. Reporting:
Validate results with knowledge of business/external environment.
Monitor and explain results and identify and implement improvement opportunities.
5. Distil and Communicate Information to Stakeholders:
Understand stakeholder needs and requirements.
Collaborate independently with senior stakeholders, address unforeseen issues.
Create new presentations, present results, take challenge and feedback.
Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
6. Build and Transfer Skills and Knowledge:
Participate in and seek out learning opportunities.
Apply learnings effectively to work.
Share ideas and collaborate with colleagues to ensure best practice.
7. Manage Self:
Take full responsibility for work quality.
Maintain a can-do approach to find solutions and overcome challenges.
Keep stakeholders informed of progress and manage expectations.
Form effective working relationships with team and stakeholders.
May co-ordinate the delivery of work for Analysts.

What do you need to thrive?
Student or associate member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or equivalent.
Working towards the completion of their actuarial qualification.
Demonstrable experience in a working Actuarial Environment.
MS Office skills: Excel intermediate, Word/PowerPoint basic.
