Piece Hall - Event Stock Manager
Location: The Piece Hall, Halifax
Reports to: General Manager
Rate: £18.10 per hour (plus holiday pay)
Hours: 40 hours a week
End date: Beginning of September 2025
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Event Stock Manager to join Peppermint Events, based at The Piece Hall in Halifax. The Piece Hall is a unique open-air courtyard located in the heart of Halifax, surrounded by unique shops, bars, cafés, and restaurants, hosting a fabulous run of concerts from May to August.
Join our Peppermint Summer Events Team as an Event Stock Manager at The Piece Hall, delivering outstanding food and beverage experiences across a wide range of our summer shows here, for the 2nd year running. We have an array of artists lined up for the Summer, some of the shows announced so far are Busted, Rag’n’Bone Man, The Libertines, and many confirmed with more to come!
The purpose of this role is to oversee all aspects of the stock across the site, ensuring all bars are fully stocked and run efficiently during the shows. This role requires a proactive and organized individual to ensure efficient stock ordering with suppliers, coordination of deliveries, inventory control, and team management on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
1. Manage the ordering process with the senior stock team and suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels.
2. Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
3. Ensure all bars have sufficient stock based on show attendance numbers and previous consumption patterns.
4. Ensure menus are correct for each bar and make amendments if product lines change.
5. Schedule and coordinate deliveries to the venue.
6. Ensure accurate and timely receipt of all stock items.
7. Liase with The Piece Hall on-site events team regarding scheduled deliveries.
2. Stock Takes and Control:
1. Conduct regular stock takes to monitor inventory levels.
2. Implement inventory control measures to prevent losses and discrepancies.
3. Maintain accurate stock records and report on inventory status.
4. Provide accurate reports on stock wastage.
5. Organize the stock across the site, ensuring each bar has the correct products.
6. Help manage the budget for stock purchases, ensuring costs remain within the allocated budget while meeting event needs.
3. Organize a Delivery Team - Staff Management:
1. Recruit, train, and supervise the delivery team.
2. Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure smooth operations.
3. Monitor team performance and provide feedback for improvement.
4. Train staff on inventory procedures, including how to handle, store, and track stock to avoid losses or mistakes.
5. Ensure all stock is properly managed and stored at event sites.
6. Address and resolve any on-site issues related to inventory and deliveries.
7. Coordinate with other departments to meet event requirements.
8. Ensure all bar equipment is functioning correctly and report any issues to the correct providers.
9. A forklift license is preferred to assist with the handling and movement of stock.
10. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in stock management in an events environment.
2. Venue, festival, or event stock experience is essential.
3. Strong organizational and time management skills.
4. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
5. Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
6. Great problem-solving abilities.
7. A forklift license is highly preferred but not mandatory.
8. Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
1. This position involves working on-site; you must be able to commute to Halifax.
2. Requires flexibility to work irregular hours – mornings, evenings, and weekends.
3. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move heavy items as needed.
