New - we have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Litigation Solicitor (NQ) to join a respected Chambers-rated firm based in the Thames Valley. The ideal individual will have a minimum of 6 months disputes experience and be looking to specialise in dispute resolution longer term. The successful individual will be working with blue chip household name corporations, international organisations, building and construction companies and associated supply chain business and delivering services in accordance with the Firm’s service level agreements. To assist the Firm’s clients with their commercial recovery, dispute resolution, litigation and insolvency requirements using a case management system. Knowledge of insolvency, Fast and Multi Track cases up to Trial, training and support will be given. Demonstrating detailed knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and commercial acumen to the Firms’ clients. Utilising a case management system for the issue of Court proceedings and obtaining Judgment in default. Advising on and issuing all methods of enforcement appropriate to the Judgment amount and progressing each matter to its conclusion. Assisting with disputed claims arising from breach of contract, claims based on personal guarantees, supply of goods and services, IT and consumables claims. This role may include the following duties: • Taking initial interviews with new and existing clients of the firm regarding disputes or potential disputes • Advising on matters of dispute and providing legal opinions, summaries of options and prospects for success • Analysing and evaluating cases and assisting clients in their choice of what strategy to take • Developing strong relationships with clients • Keeping up to date with any changes in law and where necessary, confidently and independently researching law relating to specific instructions • Drafting settlement agreements and consent orders where appropriate • Instructing Counsel for advice in respect of specialist matters and briefing counsel • Managing contested possession claims and debt claims through directions and to trial; • Attending court hearings (where necessary though advocacy experience is not essential) and drafting pleadings, to include claims, particulars of claim, defences, replies to defences etc include arranging mediations; telephone mediation; interim applications and progressing matters to Hearing or Trial. Drafting documentation including particulars of claim, witness statements, applications, instructions to Counsel, costs schedules and cost budgets, preparing Part 36 offers, complying with Court directions and deadlines.
