A bit more about your role: Managing RAM processes according to the sector standards (i.e. EN 50126 for rail) and perform the relevant activities (e.g. planning, analysing, verifying, reporting). Leading the RAM team to deliver the planned activities and manage sub-contractors. Cross functional collaboration and integration including stakeholders management. Leveraging your knowledge and experience to support bids, advisory, strategic decisions and wider team to manage the relationship with client Mentoring junior RAM members of the team, acting as the focal point for technical expertise and guidance. Encouraging and promoting the innovation and implementation of new techniques and tools which may improve efficiency and effectiveness of the team. Promoting the WSP brand, through active involvement with industry partners and professional engineering institutions. This may include sitting on councils, committees and working groups which promote and drive technical excellence in the field of RAMS, and / or writing and presenting papers at conferences and events. What we will be looking for you to demonstrate… A degree in a technical engineering related discipline, or extensive relevant experience. RAM engineering experience (rail desirable, but not essential). Corporate membership with an appropriate professional institution (e.g. SaRS, IET, IMechE, etc.). Professional registration as a Chartered Engineer (or significant progression towards that goal). Proven ability to deliver RAM activities and provide technical leadership to a team of RAM and Safety Engineers. Proven ability to support RAM and Safety engineering activities and/or creating the supporting arguments and evidence. Proven ability to liaise with regulatory and independent parties / bodies. Extensive knowledge and experience in the application of the EN 50126 series and related. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team. Knowledge and experience in a mainline or metro railway systems, e.g. Signalling, Control Systems, Rolling Stock, Traction Power, Depots etc. Desirable Requirements: Experience of working on international projects. Experience in other sectors (e.g. aviation, nuclear, oil & gas, defence). Mix experience in consultancy and supplier / clients side environment.
