About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market-leading expertise from four civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction, and BAM Nuttall. All partners have expertise in designing, constructing, operating, financing, and maintaining railway networks, including Europe's latest high-speed rail projects.
We are seeking proven Handover & Completion Engineers to work within a section of the HS2 project. Your primary focus will be to ensure that completion documentation is embedded and embraced by the Construction Delivery teams, facilitating the collation and retention of all relevant completion assurance records.
Reporting to the Section Quality & Completions Manager, you will work in a small team to implement the quality and completions strategy during construction, ensuring documentation supports the progressive handover of structures for project completion.
Your responsibilities include managing handover, completion, and commissioning activities, collaborating with Project Managers, Designated Individuals, and the Quality team to achieve:
1. Handover
2. Completion (L3 Certificate at the end of Technical Lifecycle 5/6)
Additional duties involve:
* Developing and delivering land restoration and handback programs with the Land team.
* Monitoring readiness using a “T minus” approach for timely handover, completion, and commissioning.
* Assisting with technical reviews and close-outs of ITP quality packs.
* Early identification of blockers/issues, proposing solutions, and enabling corrective actions.
* Collaborating with the Commercial team to notify process changes, draft Early Warning Notices, and General Communications.
* Managing H&C matters through escalation processes as needed.
* Following policies, procedures, and guidance in the Business Management System.
* Building effective relationships within the Handover & Completions community and sharing best practices.
* Supporting audit processes and promoting innovation and best practices.
* Maintaining relationships with Parent Company specialists and fostering collaboration.
* Championing the “Speak Up” and “Choices” programs.
About You
* Degree or similar qualification in civil engineering or relevant field.
* Ideally Chartered.
* Experience in project execution with a focus on handover, completion, and commissioning on major projects.
* Experience managing QMS on multi-disciplinary construction projects with multiple stakeholders.
* Ability to drive delivery and business improvement.
* Experience with Technical Assurance Certification, Handover, and Completion processes.
* Experience with Network Rail AMP and GRIP/PACE processes.
* Excellent communication and engagement skills.
* Valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
