Exmoor Drive is a residential home in Bromsgrove, accommodating up to twelve adults who have diagnoses including learning disability, physical disability, mental health, and dementia.
We are looking for a motivated individual to join the senior support worker team in this service and continue to offer high standards in care. We desire a candidate who will promote the lives of those using the service. Support provided ranges from assistance with personal care to general day-to-day support with all activities of daily living, emotional, psychological, practical, and social support with the aim of meeting the individuals' chosen outcomes and promoting their independence.
You will have knowledge of care standards, CQC regulations, and be able to promote person-centred practice, choice, dignity, and respect. You will be an assertive and inspiring individual able to lead a team of support staff in ensuring these values are promoted and met. You will have a good understanding of adult safeguarding procedures, mental capacity, and Deprivation of Liberty.
You will be experienced in leading and supporting staff, identifying staff motivations, and managing conflict. You will be able to organise people, workloads, and prioritise. You will be able to carry out effective supervision and always ensure agreed ways of working are met. You will support the management team in maintaining a high-quality service and maintain the running of the service in their absence.
You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, completing records to a detailed and accurate standard. You will communicate effectively with the Exmoor team and wider multidisciplinary teams.
Your shifts will be worked on a rota pattern, which includes some weekend working; this may be subject to amendment due to changing service needs. In return, we will provide you with excellent training, support, and development.
