We are now looking for a Project & Tender Sustainability Specialist to join our team at Hitachi Energy. In this role, you will be at the forefront of managing HVDC’s global sustainability data. Your responsibilities will include developing comprehensive strategies, innovative tools, and efficient processes to enhance our sustainability efforts.
You will play a crucial role in analyzing sustainability data, identifying key trends, and proposing ambitious yet achievable targets. Your insights will be instrumental in developing new solutions that drive our sustainability initiatives forward. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of our sustainability projects.

Your Responsibilities:
1. Participate and lead the sustainability requirements during the tender process.
2. Understand and communicate project-specific requirements on sustainability to secure customer requests can be met and for continuous improvement.
3. Secure sustainability visibility towards customers in the tendering process.
4. Coordinate with the project team and sustainability team, including Sustainability Lead, Project Directors, Engineers, Supply Chain Management. Sustainability is a cross-functional topic requiring coordination and alignment internally across the HVDC organization.
5. Ensure that legal requirements on sustainability affecting the project execution are considered.
6. Ensure effectiveness and integrity of the Sustainability Management Plan in achieving conformance with the requirements of the agreement.
7. Oversee the implementation of the Sustainability Management Plan, including monitoring, maintaining, and updating it for the period that the Contractor is performing the Work.
8. Coordinate the required information for any audits.
9. Assess and perform sustainability inductions, trainings, etc.
10. Monitor, analyze and secure actions on sustainability KPIs in the projects that deviate from defined targets.
11. Ensure that KPIs and audits are followed up on a regular basis to secure actual implementation of reporting and contractual promises.
Experience:
1. At least 3 years of experience in managing or coordinating large infrastructure projects, preferably within environmental and sustainability management.
2. Experience in working with high-risk and strictly confidential data in projects.
3. Understanding of sustainability reporting and experience of actual reporting.
4. Responsibility within the area of laws and regulations compliance.
5. Openness to lead deliverables in a growing and changing environment.
6. Strong organizational & communication skills.
7. Driven & self-motivated with experience in self-leadership.
8. Enjoy the challenge of working within and across teams to lead change and improvements within the business.
