We are seeking an experienced Registered Service Manager to lead our Ofsted registered service for young people aged 16 years and above. As the Registered Service Manager, you will be responsible for the effective operation, management, and development of the service, ensuring high-quality care, support, safeguarding, and guidance to our residents.

This exciting role will involve managing this three-bed service, with the potential of additional management responsibilities for our other services in the coming months.

Duties and responsibilities
1. Leadership and Management
* Provide strategic leadership, vision, and direction to the staff team, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation and ensuring the setting has the capacity and capability to meet Regulatory and Quality Standards
* Oversee the daily operations of the residential service, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
* Recruit, train, and manage a skilled and motivated team, fostering a positive and inclusive working environment.
* Conduct regular staff supervision, and performance reviews, and support professional development initiatives.
* Ensure that recruitment, supervision and performance management of staff safeguards young people and minimises potential risk to them.
* Promote a person-centred approach, ensuring the delivery of holistic and individualised care to young people.
2. Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance
* Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, statutory requirements, and other relevant legislation.
* Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and protocols that reflect best-safeguarding practices and promote high-quality care.
* Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
* Prepare for and participate in Ofsted inspections, addressing any recommendations or requirements for improvement.
* Monitor and evaluate service performance, utilising feedback and data to drive continuous improvement.
3. Care and Support of young people
* A comprehensive understanding of both effective practices in responding to the needs of looked-after care leavers aged 16 and 17 and of local authority statutory duties for this cohort and how supported accommodation settings are required to support these.
* Develop and implement comprehensive care plans and risk assessments, tailored to each young person's individual needs and goals.
* Oversee the provision of person-centred care, support, and guidance to promote well-being and independence.
* Ensure the creation and maintenance of a safe, nurturing, and inclusive living environment.
* Facilitate young person's access to educational, vocational, and recreational opportunities to support their personal development.
* Respond promptly and effectively to complex issues, crisis situations, and safeguarding concerns involving young people.
Person Specification
Work Experience
* At least 2 years experience in leadership and management within the childcare sector within the last 5 years
* Substantial experience in a managerial role within a residential care setting for young people, preferably with experience in Ofsted registered services.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 5 in management is required or willingness to work towards this.

* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a diverse team of staff.
* In-depth knowledge of the regulatory framework, including Ofsted standards, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with young people, staff, and external stakeholders.
* Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to handle complex situations effectively.
Schedule:
* 8-hour shift (in-person)
* Monday to Friday
* Weekend availability
