Macmillan Improving the Cancer Journey Lead

NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB) plans and buys healthcare services for our local population. We are accountable for the performance and finances of the NHS across Norfolk and Waveney – a total budget of £2 billion a year.
This fixed term 18-month role will manage the delivery of the system ICJ project within the Norfolk and Waveney Cancer Transformation programme, leading on the work to promote synergistic working within existing system stakeholders, including community leaders, councils, services, VCSE (voluntary, community or social enterprise) and patients with the aim of improving outcomes for the Norfolk and Waveney population.
This hybrid role is based at Norfolk County Council offices in Norwich. Stakeholder engagement and attendance on site at least once a week is required. Flexible working options will be considered on the provision the expected objectives can be achieved within the 18-month term of the role.
Main duties of the job
The ICJ Lead will promote synergistic working within existing alliances, community leaders, councils, service users and VCSE, bringing together services to support a patient-centric approach to care delivery across Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System.
* Project management of the ICJ project within the Norfolk and Waveney Cancer Transformation Programme
* The role requires autonomous working within a virtual ICS team and the ability to matrix work across organisations.
* The job holder will carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by their line manager.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Role specific objectives include:
* Stakeholder Engagement to scope a place-based non-clinical model for Norfolk and Waveney.
* To map existing community support and information services in Norfolk and Waveney.
* To review processes for sharing personalised care interventions between primary and secondary care.
* To review the quality of how Cancer Care Reviews are delivered by primary care and to make recommendations for their improvement.
* Facilitate stakeholder engagement events.
* To set up and manage a Stakeholder Steering Group to oversee the project.
* To provide monthly progress reports.
* To undertake an evaluation and report on findings.
Person specification
Knowledge, training and experience
* Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development.
* Must have an understanding of current healthcare policy.
* Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience of working at a senior level in a specialist area.
* Member of relevant professional body.

* Must be able to provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious information.
