Timely Recruit Limited is seeking a Senior Climate Risk Consultant in Richmond, UK, with a salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per annum. The role involves advising clients on climate-related risks and opportunities, supporting the development of Net Zero strategies, and conducting climate scenario analyses.
Responsibilities:
1. Identifying and assessing risks and opportunities by understanding client business models and governance frameworks.
2. Conducting gap analyses and undertaking climate scenario analysis.
3. Financial quantification of transition climate risks and opportunities and drafting disclosures.
4. Advising best-practice governance arrangements for embedding climate change management and sustainability into clients' organizations.
5. Strong understanding of financial modelling - P&L, balance sheet, and forecasting finances with development of climate sensitivity and scenario modelling.
6. Comprehensive understanding of risk management frameworks and control procedures.
7. Supporting clients in setting Net Zero strategies, targets, and development of a decarbonization roadmap.
8. Assessing the regulatory framework, climate policy, and developing pragmatic ways to implement change.
9. Supporting clients in reviewing and preparing their TCFD disclosures.
10. Facilitating engaging and responsive workshops and training sessions with company boards.
11. Providing practical and feasible adaptation and resilience solutions.
12. Conducting climate risk due diligence for private equity buyers and sellers.
13. Assisting clients in structuring and developing sustainable finance instruments.
14. Reporting climate performance in annual sustainability reports and CDP disclosures.
15. Calculating corporate carbon footprints, developing Net Zero glide paths, and submitting SBTi targets.
16. Identifying technological and strategic GHG reduction opportunities.
Professional and Personal Attributes:
1. Experience of performing climate transition risk analysis within a consultancy or similar client-facing environment.
2. 2+ years consulting experience in climate strategies, climate risk analysis and management, financial accounting, GHG accounting, and data management.
3. Experience of stakeholder engagement and analysis including materiality assessment, interviews, and workshops.
4. Knowledge of financial auditing and regulatory frameworks including GHG Protocol requirements.
5. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. A strong track record of scoping and delivering consulting solutions.
7. Fluency in one or more European languages is desirable.
