Pilgrim Hospital is situated on the outskirts of the market town of Boston and serves the population of the whole of South and Mid-Lincolnshire providing emergency and acute inpatient care, elective and emergency surgery, outpatient services and much more The Acute Medical Short Stay is a 32 bedded unit which takes medical referrals from the Integrated Assessment Centre with the view of a short stay treatment plan and a discharge within 72 hours. The unit is fast paced and has multiple daily admissions and discharges. The team have been established over the last six years and are professional, knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. The is a real 'team' atmosphere on the unit which is reflected in our excellent retention of staff and high fill rate of job vacancies. Main duties of the job The Ward Clerk duties will include: communicating will all visitors to the ward, answering the telephone, updating CareFlow (computer system) with all admissions/discharges. Ensuring all medical notes and current inpatient notes are filed correctly, oversee RDC ordering and ensuring stationary stock is well maintained. The above list is not exhaustive as you will also be expected to support with the collection of data that is completed on a daily and monthly basis. This data is specific to the ward.
