Our client is currently looking to recruit a Managing Estimator to join the Water North management team and be the focal point and person responsible for all estimating activity across the region. As the Managing Estimator you will be part of our friendly team who are responsible for the production of accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely and efficient manner and Control and manage the estimating process at project level. As the Managing Estimator your duties & responsibilities will include: Management of the estimating team, of up to 5 estimators at varying levels Production of accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely and efficient manner. Control and management of the estimating process at project level. Production of estimates on complex, multi-disciplinary projects. Supporting development and promotion of estimating best practice. Assisting in the achievement of departmental objectives. Provide post Contract support and advice to the Contract delivery teams Staying abreast of developments within own technical area of expertise to be able to give best practice advice in line with business objectives. Active member in developing and driving the Estimating Hub throughout the company. Skills & Knowledge Requirements You will be qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant estimating experience. You will have wide and varied experience of construction/infrastructure projects. You will have relevant experience providing estimating and/or cost planning services in a large project environment. You will have strong understanding of project management, planning, risk and investment processes. You will be proficient in the production of estimates in Excel and demonstrable experience of preparing estimates using Estimating software packages (e.g. Conquest, Candy, COSTX, RIB, Causeway); You will have a background in management of small pre-contract teams Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience of working in a client facing environment. You will have experience in managing and coordinating team members to deliver complex project estimates.
