A highly regarded national law firm is seeking a Senior Associate with 5+ years PQE to join its growing Construction team in London. This is a full-time, permanent position focused exclusively on non-contentious construction matters. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and ambitious team that has quickly established itself as a recognized player in the market, having been ranked in the Legal 500 for the past two years.
The Team:
The firm’s national Construction team consists of approximately 30 lawyers across multiple offices, advising on both contentious and non-contentious matters. The London team, which has been expanding over the last three years, primarily acts for developers and collaborates closely with Real Estate and Banking teams. The incoming Senior Associate will work alongside a Principal Associate, two Associates, and a Trainee, with exposure to both London-based and national projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advising developers on all aspects of non-contentious construction law, including drafting and negotiating building contracts and associated documents.
* Handling the construction elements of agreements for lease, development agreements, and funding agreements.
* Collaborating with the firm’s Real Estate and Banking teams to provide seamless legal support to clients.
* Supporting the wider national Construction team on various projects beyond London.
* Mentoring junior team members and contributing to the continued growth of the London practice.
Candidate Requirements:
* UK-qualified solicitor with 5+ years PQE in non-contentious construction law.
* Strong experience in drafting and negotiating JCT and NEC contracts, warranties, consultant appointments, and related construction documents.
* Familiarity with the construction aspects of real estate transactions, including development and funding agreements.
* Excellent client management and communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a national team while also operating independently.
