We are partnering with an exciting and fast-growing company that is focused on making financial services more accessible and fair for people who often struggle to access mainstream financial products.
The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Head of Data Science to join the business and lead their growing data science team. This is a highly impactful role where you will be responsible for developing data-driven strategies and models that will drive business growth, improve decision-making, and enhance risk management. You'll have the opportunity to work across various teams to identify key data opportunities and take a hands-on approach to both leadership and model development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with business leaders to identify high-priority data opportunities.
* Lead the creation of models that drive business growth, improve risk management, and support key business objectives.
* Present actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
* Explore and analyze large and diverse data sets to support strategic decisions.
* Keep up to date with the latest developments in data science and machine learning, applying new techniques to business needs.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists to ensure high performance and growth.
What We're Looking For:
* Several years of experience in data science or modelling.
* Strong technical skills in Python, SQL, and statistical modelling.
* Proven experience with machine learning and data analysis techniques.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience managing or mentoring a team.
* Experience working for a lending company / financial services sector.
* Preference for someone with some experience working in a start-up environment
