Your new company My client is a consultancy specialising in ecological survey, assessment, and mitigation strategy. They assist developers, architects, planning consultants, and homeowners in integrating biodiversity into their projects.Projects include small & large residential schemes, commercial developments, barn conversions, single luxury dwellings and more. They support clients both with developments and the ongoing ecological management of habitats. Your new role Project Management - co-ordination of field surveys, managing project budgets, supporting with client liaison and consultations with statutory and non-statutory consultees. Desk studies - coordinating and assessing existing ecological information. Ecological field surveys and coordinating junior members of staff. Supporting with assessment of the impacts of proposed developments, developing recommendations for the mitigation of ecological impacts. Supporting with the undertaking of protected species mitigation licences (from small to complex). PEA, UKHab, BNG, BREEAM and NVC surveys. Production of survey reports, drafting Environmental Statement chapters and other documents to support planning; PEAs, EcIAs, EMPs, BNG reports. Supporting senior members of staff and mentoring junior members. Developing client relationships by attending meetings. General administrative / management tasks. What you'll need to succeed CIEEM membership or working toward Degree in a relevant subject; Minimum of five years post-qualification experience in an ecologically focussed role, preferably in ecological consultancy; Extensive experience in undertaking protected species and habitat surveys; Excellent project management skills; Proven experience of preparing technical reports including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, Biodiversity Net Gain reports and other technical reports. A Natural England protected species class licence or FISC qualification; Strong knowledge of relevant UK and European legislation, policy and guidance; Be a team player with excellent verbal and written communications skills; A full driving licence and vehicle What you'll get in return A competitive salary in the range of £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience; Remote working with no requirement to attend an office; A generous training budget and regular in-house training; 37.5 hours p/week with flexible working hours & overtime and/or time in lieu available; 23 days annual leave bank holidays plus extra day for your birthday; Pension - NEST (salary sacrifice scheme); Company laptop and phone; CIEEM membership and protected species licence fees paid for by the company.
