Specialty Doctor - General Adult Psychiatry, Royal Blackburn Hospital (10PA)
We are seeking to recruit a substantive Specialty Doctor in General Adult Psychiatry to work at Royal Blackburn Hospital. The post is full time (10 PAs) and will be based on Ribble Ward.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be based with Ribble Ward, working with the team and assessing and providing care for Psychiatric inpatients with significant Mental Health disorders.
There will be some flexibility to the work based on clinical need though it will include undertaking routine reviews, urgent assessments and MDT and Consultation work with the ward team alongside the Ward Consultant. Involvement in and referral of acute physical health presentations to the relevant department would also be expected.
The role is an excellent opportunity to develop and build on existing experience of Adult Psychiatry in acute presentations and medium-term treatment and management planning and to work with Medical and non-Medical colleagues already established within these parts of our service.
There will be dedicated supervision from a Consultant Psychiatrist.
There may be the opportunity to join the On Call rota, for which additional remuneration is available.
About us
To be eligible to apply for this post, you must possess at least 3 year's experience in psychiatry and be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice. Ideally, you will be Section 12 Approved, or eligible for approval at the time of commencing employment.
