Position Purpose
The Custom Fabricator - Nights works within a dynamic team of Fabricators and Mechanical Engineers to deliver quality projects to our clients. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering drawings, fabricating, and assembling metal components or structures, as well as performing quality checks on finished products. You may also be required to design and set up fabricating jigs and custom templates. Other essential duties include interfacing with other departments to solve problems, observing processes that support the wider business, having an active role in site safety, and ensuring that, with an emphasis collaboration and teamwork, we always strive to execute on manufacturing to the highest possible standards.
This role will be a permanent night shift, the hours being:
Mon - 20:00-06:00
Tues - 20:00-06:00
Weds - 20:00-06:00
Thurs - 20:00-06:00
Main Outcomes of the Position
1. Complete work allocated to company standards.
2. Maintain delivery of quality projects to scheduled department/delivery dates.
3. Assemble & fabricate parts/products using tools/equipment according to specifications in manufacturing environment.
4. Work with other departments to problem solve.
5. Use of individual training platform will facilitate personal growth.
6. Ensures that the working environment is safe, and housekeeping is kept to a high standard
Responsibilities
7. Read, interpret, follow engineering drawings & ensure implementation according to weld procedure specification (WPS)
8. Work within & according to health & safety guidelines to maintain personal and others safety.
9. Competent in utilizing various hand & power tools.
10. Competent in operating measuring tools such as tape measures, weld gauges etc.
11. Work to process, incorporating SSOW’s/Quality standards.
12. Periodically check all equipment is maintained to high standards and report issues.
13. Evaluate materials/parts etc before activities carried out and on completion of assemblies conform to quality checks. Report via NCR if any issues.
14. Maintain clean & safe working environment.
15. Comply with clock procedures to comply with company processes.
16. Be flexible to perform duties throughout other departments.
17. Engage in personal development programs/Training.
18. Operate within individual & team environment maintaining work ethics individually and alongside other team members.
19. Ownership/Identification of all fabrication (Marking/Labelling of assemblies manufactured)
20. Communication between line manager/colleagues.
Required Technical Abilities
21. Aluminium TIG welding in accordance with ISO 10042 Quality level B
22. Carbon Steel MAG welding in accordance with ISO 5817 Quality Level B
