This is an opportunity for an experienced, HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to work in a busy department which provides a full range of clinical and diagnostic services to NHS Tayside. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in the Bacteriology section of the Medical Microbiology Laboratory at Ninewells Hospital, who undertake 300,000 investigations per annum.
Applicants must have HCPC registration and have completed/working towards/willing to work towards an IBMS specialist portfolio in an appropriate subject or an equivalent qualification recognized by the IBMS. Candidates must be flexible and have the ability to work as part of a team. Saturdays are worked as part of the normal roster. On attaining appropriate competences you will also join the roster for the Out of Hours sessions which include Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, backshifts and on-call.
The Department is approved by the Institute of Biomedical Science and NHS Education Scotland as a training laboratory. The department has UKAS accreditation to ISO 15189 standards.
Remote interviews are not available due to there being a practical aspect to the interview.
