Senior Electrical Engineer, East London. My client has an exciting opportunity for an electrical SME to work an interesting project.
Main Tasks:
Act as the focal point for the CDM client or project manager for all construction works to initiate the necessary exchange of pre-construction information and inform design and build deliberations.
Act as a focal point ensuring that all safety notices relating to infrastructure, systems and services are produced, communicated and actioned accordingly. Also, you’ll provide competent, independent and impartial professional advice to management in relation to the regulatory compliance of facilities and systems.
1. Supporting the H&S team in matters of electrical safety.
1. Authorising and administration of electrical safety rules. Maintenance of rules in line with legislative, regulatory or industry changes.
1. Providing professional and technical guidance on electrical construction & electrical contracting delivery.
1. Undertakes AP and CP audits and annual appraisals.
1. Manage and keep updated the campus Electrical Schematic drawing.
1. Develop and implement an LV Maintenance regime to all campus switchgear not currently addressed by UKPNS or SSE, including switch room audits.
1. Manage HV and LV shutdowns in coordination with stakeholders and partners.
In terms of what the right experience looks like (not limited to):
1. HV Senior Authorised Person (current)
1. Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer.
1. Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent.
1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
1. 18th Edition - City and Guilds.
1. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor – can gain in post.
1. IOSH/NEBOSH – can gain in post.
1. Must be able to achieve security clearance for this role.
Specialist skills & knowledge:
1. Experienced in verifying safe systems of work.
2. Ideally registered with a relevant engineering institution as a Chartered Engineer. Incorporated Engineer will be considered based on additional experience.
3. Recent experience of working as an Authorising Engineer or an Electrical Site Supervisor.
4. A full Valid UK driving License (essential)
5. First Aid Trained (essential)
6. Handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
